Default 2002 X Type Electrical Issue

I have a 02 2.5L that I have an electrical problem with. The vehicle will start and idle fine, but after starting driving, the electrical gremlins show up. The speedometer goes to 0, the doors lock and unlock on their own, all the warning lights on the instrument cluster flicker and the clock/radio goes on and off. Could this be a grounding problem? I recently had the tranny replaced and the 2 battery ground wires are attached to the top of the tranny. My thought is that this may not be correct but do not know if they were like that prior to the tranny being replaced. Is this the only location for ground points or are there points from the battery to the chassis? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kevin,

Is the car driveable when you are suffering this fluctuation and electrical chaos?

I've included a pdf link to help you, sounds like a nightmare..Good Luck, the grounding points are on page 21
