2002 X-Type...Engine Light & Lose Power in 3rd Gear

My engine light recently turned on and now my car loses power / jerks when shifting to 3rd gear. Engine / transmission sounds fine. Any idea what the problem is / how much this is going to cost to fix?

It could be a lot of things....you will need to get the fault diagnosed with a code reader first.
