2002 X Type Stabilizer Link Question
Hello all,
I have been checking out the forum for some time as a visitor and decided to join on--seems there is a lot of knowledge in the group.
So, I am doing brakes and struts/shocks all around on my 2002 X. The nuts that secure the stabilizer link to the strut are really corroded and seized up. Been doing all the usual tricks to free them up but to no avail. They are so seized that I cannot get enough on them while holding the shaft still with the allen head on the end.
I have a couple questions then:
1. If I take the plastic cap off the back of the joint, is there something else under there that I could get a better grip on? Doubt it-seems like it would just be a ball end?
2. If anyone else has had this happen, how did you succeed?
3. Should that joint be able to rotate in its housing, or does this mean it has worn out?
I appreciate the help,
Briton
