2003 X-Type 2.5 issues
Hi
My 03 x type 2.5 is sick. I was driving it one day and came to a stop at a red light. As I shifted to 1st gear and released the clutch to pull off, pressed on the gas and NOTHING! I tried 2nd gear and still nothing... I got out of the road and called for help to get my car back home. Any ideas as to what happened? I did google and found a few remarks towards it being the transfer case... could that be the problem? Please oh please help...
Thanks in advance
Candie

Candie,
I've moved your question from US Lower Atlantic forum to X-Type forum.
Technical questions are best posted in the MODEL forum and geographically relevant (e.g. recommended specialists) in the REGION forum.

Candie, based on your other post about the transfer case, that ruled out my first guess. I guess I would have started with an easier check in that I would have tried to see if the clutch was actually moving as you stepped on the pedal. Almost sounds as if your clutch has gotten stuck in the engaged position (throwout bearing froze or something in that general area?) Not a big tech on transmissions and clutches (never got to play with them a lot).
