Hi I have a 2003 xtype (2.1 V6) and the last few days the alarm keeps sounding randomly. It’s not the alarm that sounds like the horn blowing. And I can’t find any evidence of a aftermarket one. I’ve read on some forums that the 74fuse can cause this problem and something to do with the back up sounder?

can anyone tell me weather just disconnecting the back up sounder would stop the alarm going off?

Further to yesterday’s post, this morning I’ve disconnected the Battery Back Up Sounder. I’m hoping this will stop that “chirpy” alarm randomly sounding!! 🤞
