Hello folks.

I have a 3.0L X Type 5 speed. I just came from a BMW 328I 5 speed.

Since moving to the Jag, there's a lot I like. However, My biggest issue is the lack of exhaust sound. It's dofficu to shift by. I want to increase the exhaust note to be a little more noticeable. But not obnoxious.

I am looking into deleting the from mufflers under the rear seats. Leaving the mufflers by the truck. Would that help give a little more sound without sounding like a ricer?

Ideas.

I have a max budget of around $500. Less is best. But it's my baby.

 

There are only 2 mufflers at the rear of the car, the triangular one in the center of the car is a resonator. When I first got my x I too didn't like how quiet it was so I cut the resonator off and replaced it with a length of 2 inch pipe. I did it myself, and the pipe and clamps cost me less than 20 bucks. Have pipe welded in place would be better though and I can't see that costing much at all. After my car was not loud at all, but sounded better. I now have mina gallery mufflers in place of the rear stock mufflers, and no resonator and I love how it sounds.

 

I have MagnaFlows in place of the stock mufflers. I still have the resonator but I want to delete it. I love the way the car sounds, just enough low bassy rumble. I was surprised at how large and heavy the stock mufflers were when I saw them out of the car. Huge compared to the light and smaller MagnaFlows. The MFs were $150 for 2 mufflers on Ebay.
