I am new to the forum

I found a 2003 X-type with 2,800 miles that I am looking at on Saturday for my wife. The car is owned by an elderly woman that can no longer drive and is asking $10k firm. I currently own a 1998 Mercedes E320 with 80K that I will be selling and the 2003 X-Type will be replacing my old Mercedes. Can anyone tell me a comparison to the both?

Also what is a common defect or recall problem $$ repair for this model since I know nothing about this model- other than loving the body lines of the car and style!
