Default 2004 vs. 2005

Hello again,

I'm looking into trading my 2005 Jaguar X-type 3.0 AWD base model for a 2004 Jaguar X-type 3.0 AWD I was wondering if anyone knows the difference in model, the 2004 is supposedly fully loaded and has 84000 miles while mine is at 76,000 miles. The main reason I wanted to trade was for the Naviagtion and heated seats since in Chicago it can get a bit chilly and I like to have the option. As well as according to carfax this vehicle has been fully serviced by Jaguar Since Day 1 and he's asking for $7000

DrRed, the big question is what month the 2004 was made in. There may be no real differences, but then there may be some major differences. I would say to open up the driver's door of the 2004 and look at the build sticker there and see if it is before April 2004 or on/after. If it is before that date, then there are going to be some significant differences (mainly the transfer case). If it is after, then the differences is minimal (mainly the rear calipers are slightly different between the 04 and 05).

jarrod, open the driver's front door and look down in the lower right corner of the car body (not on the door). If the sticker is not there, then there has been body work/repainting done to the car and they didn't take the time to put the sticker back. If this is the case, then you will need to decipher the VIN to see when the car was made.
