Default 2004 x-type bluetooth addition

Hello everyone,
I would like to thank everyone on the forum for valuable info on adding bluetooth to my x-type. I got all of the parts needed and some great info from Dennis at Nalley Jaguar, also saving some money in the process. I also recommend that anyone contemplating this or other additions consult the Jaguar website for some valuable PDF files on adding accessories. Thanks again!

Can you provide a link to said Jaguar site? I actually am looking for information on adding bluetooth.

Here's the link

Go to Accessory Fitting Instructions in the second drop down menu and you will get eight pages of files for various accessories. The information is great. Good luck and if you need parts, once again I would recommend Nalley Jaguar since they give a discount to forum members and their customer service is excellent!

Just out of curiousity, how much did the parts run you for everything? Also, how is the quality of the phone connection, primarily the sound sending and receiving?

Thanks.

My car was prewired for Jaguar Voice, cd changer, and phone. I also had factory satnav. The parts I needed were a phone module, bluetooth module, different d2b (optical) harness, and microphone. The total for the parts was $820. The parts came from Nalley Jaguar and reflected a discount for forum members. Once I did the install, there was an error message "Pecus B error" which meant that the phone module had to be programmed to the particular car since it was not in the original build. I had this done at the local Jaguar dealer for $130. For a total of $950, I now have the factory bluetooth (I prefer factory options) and it works great. The microphone that I used was the external one that fits next to the overhead console. This was referenced under a factory TSB and supposedly improved the communications quality. Both I and the party I am talking to hear the conversation perfectly and all of the features such as radio mute, touch screen menus, and steering controls work perfectly. It was a pretty easy install since all of the harnesses were already present. It took roughly two hours to complete.
