Default 2004 x type marker lights

If you make it so the outside lights on the car come on automatically, the marker lights work. If you just want to turn the marker lights on, they don't work. Can't figure out what the problem is.

Can anyone help?

Have you checked the bulbs and fuses? Could be a simple fix..

Hubby replaced bulbs. But would it be a fuse if they came on when the lights are on automatic? The only time they don't come on is when the light switch is in position 1 or 2.

Are they making a secure connection to the socket?

Yes. He even replaced the panel where the light switch is located because he was afraid maybe it was a loose wire. It's driving him crazy because he's pretty good with cars and he can't figure this out.

Are you talking the front marker light, up near the front bumper or the one half way down?

The front one comes on with my lights, my lights come on when I turn on the engine. Canada requires daytime running lights so the only light that doesn't come on arte my dash lights.

The middle one only with the signal.

I would assume it is the switch or a setting is off in the computer. Would be curious if the car is Canadian-spec or has/had an aftermarket alarm system.

Sarver, first, check fuse F38 to make sure that it is good. It is very possible that the fuse blew and that is causing all your problems. If that is good, then what you will need to have your husband do is pull out the headlight switch and using a multimeter, see if 12 VDC exists on the red wire going into the headlight switch. If you have 12 VDC there, then you have a bad headlight switch. If you don't have 12 VDC there, then you have a bad wire between the fuse box and the headlight switch.

If you need more help, let me know. We will get the car back to 100%. On a side note, if you are not too far from Richmond/Southern Maryland and you don't mind a little bit of a drive, I am over in Southern Maryland (near California, MD) and I do a lot with automotive wiring and could probably help put a little bit of light on the subject.
