Default 2005 C Pillars?

Does anyone know where to find those pillars on the side of the rear panels? I believe Jaguar states them at C Pillars? The previous owner to this car had a pet I believe and both pillars are scratched up and its an eye sore for me!

Anyone know what I'm talking about or even where to get them? Jaguar wants $150 a pop.

take a look at your local wrecking yard. If they don't have an X-type on their lot that meets what you need, have them do a part locator search and that will say which yards in the US have the parts you are after and also how much they will cost. Then the part will be shipped to either your wrecking yard or directly to your house.

The other idea that you may want to consider is sanding the part down to get rid of all the scratch marks. From there, find some fabric (preferable automotive grade) and then you can spray the plastic piece with 3M spray adhesive. You will then lay the fabric on the plastic and press the fabric against the piece, pulling the fabric flat. Trim the edges and glue to the back side of the trim. The only down side to this is that to make it look right, you will need to do the top half of the B pillars and the A-pillars too. But, the additional cost will be very minimal as a single can of adhesive will do all this plus much more. The amount of extra fabric will also be very minimal.

Thermo, Thank you for such an informative reply!

I just wish I was that much of a handy man. I'm too scared to screw things up.

My things are computers, not handy man things lol

But that is a great idea though. I might get one of my friends that do things like this all the time to give me a hand.

Thanks again.

JagXtype, if you are ever up in the Maryland area, let me know. I'm sure we could get it done in an afternoon. The "hard" part of the whole thing will be the B-pillars. Even that won't be too hard. Having you bring this up makes me contemplate doing it to my car.

Thermo, I would love to see a write up on that if you do ever decide to do it! I would probably attempt it myself if I see the steps in order to achieve good results. I'm a visual learner lol
