2005 Jaguar x type 3.0 l radiator fan or control module?
My 2005 Jaguar x type 3.0 l dual radiator fan made clicking sounds and stopped working. The car ran hot no water the the over flow reservoir?
Do I need a control module or a dual radiator fan?
Thanks for your time?

Can you spin the fans by hand easily? One of my fans went out and it wouldn't spin freely by hand. Unfortunately, if you have to buy a new fan you have to get a new pig-tail adapter because they changed something. That's an extra $100.
LAJACKSON929, odds are, you are looking at a bad fan controller. While the fans have failed in our cars, people have replaced 100 fan controllers for every fan that failed.
Of note, pay attention to which fan controller you get. there are 2 styles for the X-Type. there was one that was made for the early cars (for up to early 2004) and then you have a second version for the cars afterwards. They are not directly compatible. The older cars can use the newer fan controllers with a new harness. But, the newer cars cannot use the older fan controllers.
