2005 X type Hazard & AC Work On & Off
Hello,
Could someone help navigate me, please...After driving on a bumpy road, my Hazard and AC went out- and then will cut on randomly in different moments.
I took to Mechanic and they began diagnosis by changing the AC blower- yet, still seeing same issue- & they want to continue charging for time spent diagnosing, so which I've decided to do more research on my own..
Google says could be blown fuses- I've spent X amount of cash already, and would like to minimize spending any more, "unnecessarily", so, any expertise is extremely appreciated..

TCARTER1995, I think a bit more info is needed here to properly diagnose this over the internet. First, what type of AC do you have? The standard with the separate panel from the radio or the Navigation system?
When you say the AC went out, what do you mean by this? The dash fan stops, then restarts, that is it? Does the screen on the AC panel go blank? If the Nav system, does the radio stop?
From the sounds of things, you either have some pinched wiring (which I would suspect fuses would blow) or you have a ground wire that is lose. You are looking at ground 36AR and 37BR. If only your dash fan is stopping, then you are most likely looking at the 36AR point. If the AC screen is going blank, then you are looking at the 37BR point.
As for ground point 36AR, that should be behind the radio, on the left side of the opening, most likely mounted to a round rod running from side to side of the car. Ground point 37BR is in the same general location, but on the right side of the opening where the radio sits.

There are no common fuses that appear to supply both the hazard light operation and AC (manual or auto) operation.
Neither system derives power through a common distribution relay.
They don't appear to share common connectors or loom, as the hazard switch feeds directly into the general electronics module and does not tie into the climate control wiring harness.
Nor do either the hazard switch or the climate control panel assembly appear to earth through a common grounding point.
Grounding points do often present an issue for modern cars and both the hazard and climate control panel attach to grounding points on the cross car beam that runs behind the dash (although the climate control panel grounds through one side and the hazard light switch grounds to the beam on the other side of the tunnel).
Probably pay to check both those earths are solid before contemplating delving deeper into supply fuses, relays and wiring.
Good luck.
