I have a 2002 XJR and have an issue with the AC not blowing hard. Even with the AC on high, I can feel the the AC lightly blowing cold air if I stick my hand up to the vent, but that's about it. Someone mentioned that I shouold replace my blower motor resistor, but I don't know where it is located. Does anyone have any insight into this?
Thanks everyone! I checked the fuses in the rear heel boards and they are both in good condition. What is the best way to determine if the blower motors are inop? I took out the pocket to the left of the steering wheel to feel the driver's side blower. When I touched it, I felt very little vibration from internal components moving that. Not sure if that means it's good or bad. How do I access the passenger's side blower motor? Is it just a matter of removing the glove box?
Before removing the right side and the glove box area swap the relays as the glove box area can be trouble putting back together and adjusting the items out to look proper alignment
Keep in mind that the blower is a high current item and as it fails ( if thats the case ) it will ruin the relay internal contacts , the nature of the beast
The X300 and X308 has a front control panel self test with codes that may give you some information
The passenger's side blower motor isn't working. Thanks for all the help and advice y'all gave me! I ended up pulling the #11 fuse in the driver's side heel board and noticed that neither blower was running. Bob, you're advice was spot on! Now it's just a matter of looking through the JTIS manual and figuring out how to get the old blower motor out to replace it with the one that I ordered. Thanks again to all of you for the assistance.

The problem may not be in the motor but in its "resistor" which is actually an electronic motor speed controller. I would rate the probability of the controller's electronics failing as higher than the motor failing. You can test the blower motor if you disconnect the controller (4-pin connector), plug-in a wire into the socket of the loom side connector to which the ORANGE wire of the controller connects, switch the AC and the ignition "on" and touch the ground with the inserted wire. If the motor is good, it will run at full speed. The fan speed controller looks like this:
Thanks everyone on this thread this problem could be the cause of my weak air conditioner instead of the pollen filter so this gives me another possibility to investigate thank you for your advice. I will post again with my results
Hi there members I removed the fuse in the drivers side heel board fuse box and it made no difference to the blowers I also removed the passenger side which stopped the blowers al together so I believe the problem is with the drivers side blower or resister
thank you all for your contributions on this string
Hi everyone the mechanic tells me it’s the resistor on the passenger side motor. The Jaguar parts dealer wants to charge me £258.60 for a new resistor does anyone know the part number or anyone that sells unbranded ones in the uk I would appreciate it very much.
thankyou mark
BTW, I see you're Doncaster. Who are you using to work on it? I know two specialists around here, I used to use the Jag Specialist at Armthorpe but he'd no longer got the special tool to do the front springs so I went to Bell Lane Garage, South Kirkby who seems cheaper & happy to source 2nd hand bits as needed.
Hi Brian
I have used bells once before but I thought they were quite expensive. I now use Andy candlers o thorn rd behind the Wheatley hotel the owner there is called Kev he has worked on all my jags now for about 15 years he has full programme and I have never managed to beat him and his prices are very reasonable I would recommend him to anyone. Also thank you so much for your help with this problem I will try and get the correct one the dealer at Leeds wanted £258.60 for the resister
I am very sorry hooli I called you Brian the thread somehow went back to the start which was Brian so please accept my apologies and thank you once more for the information
Kind regards mark

Not heard of them, I'll have to remember as I thought Bell Lane was quite cheap compared to the other place!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this problem I have now diagnosed the issue. It was the resistor on the passenger side apparently a very awkward strip out and I have also managed to source an oem part from Coventry to replace so again thank you everyone
kind regards
