2007 X type jag 10k service
Hi, I bought a 2007 x type jag 3.0 - ja 2010. It took me a while to adjust to it I had previously been driving a 2003 S type 4.0- ok enough bout that!
I bought the car at a jag dealer- it had 5k miles on it' I have reached the 10k mileage. The jag dealership wants $400 for that service but I am not getting a straight answer as to what the 10k service entails- which leads me to question why I need it! I understand that I need and should always get the oil changed, to keep the car in good working condition , but barring that why do I need anything else if the car is running perfectly! I live in the desert area of California, no snow, no heavy driving, just me and my jag back and forth to the golf course, maybe once in a while over the mountain to San Diego!
Please let me know what you experts think of getting this service done!
Thanks

jaggirl, for 10K mile service, I would say to definitely get the oil changed. After that, based on where you live, having the air filter changed would be a good idea too. After that, you are mainly looking at inspections which most of them you can do yourself or have a friend/hubby do for you. You should have all the fluids looked at to make sure that they are up at their proper levels. IF you pay someone to change the oil for you, they should do this for you. After that, you should have the brake pads looked at to ensure they are not wearing excessively, the tires rotated, and then possibly new wiper blades. But, beyond that, not much you really need to look at with that few miles on the car. You should be able to have a shop rotate the tires and do a brake inspection for you for around $50.
