Default 2007 X-Type Manual Transmission conversion

Sure, it would be easy to find a nice 2005 X-type with manual transmission, but that's just practical.

I've been collecting parts required to convert a my 2007 X-Type to a manual transmission: Transmission, mount, shifter/cables, flywheel, pressure plate, disk and sheet metal spacer, clutch pedal, brackets and connecting tube. Add fasteners and the hardware collection appears complete.

Studied the wiring diagrams and it appears to be easy enough to substitute the clutch switch for the park/neutral switch. Also, it will be necessary to remove the TCM and bypass the CAN loop for continuity.

The unknown: will IDS scan the system and seeing no TCM, assume that it is a manual transmission? Or will a gimmick be required to keep the check engine light from staying lit?

Suggestions and information for the mechanical and electrical/electronic work would be appreciated.
