I have been having issue with my Jag for a good few weeks. It starts up and runs. The orange engine light stays on then after a matter of seconds the coil light appears and the engine cuts out. So far I have.

Replaced the fuel filter.
Replaced the fuel rail and sensor.
Cleaned the EGR, although there was very little deposit inside compared to some of the photos I have seen!
Blanked off the EGR.

Blanking off the EGR did make a difference in as much as the engine ran for a bit longer before coil light came on and then it cut out.
Is there any other self help jobs I could try? I have limited experience, tools and funds.

Use the SEARCH here and input "flashing glow plug" change search to "X Type Only" and do the "Mr. Muscle fix".
