Question 2009 x type auto transmission service interval

Hello,

I don't have a workshop manual unfortunately. Could anyone tell me what Jaguar's recommended fluid change service interval is for the automatic transmission in a 2009 x type sport 2.1 litre?

Clackavosticus, I don't think you are going to find a "recommended service time" for the tranny. Jaguar sold the car as the tranny being "sealed for life", ie, it will never need servicing. Most people laugh at this. Some people buy it. The general rule I have always used is 60K miles between servicing. If you are confident that your tranny has not gotten hot for more than a minute or so, then you can extend this out to 100K miles. The trick is knowing how hard you have pushed the tranny and for how long. tranny fluid likes to be at a certain temperature. At that temp, it does its best job (this happens to be about where it will naturally be when going down the highway at 60 mph/100 KM/H. As you get further away from that desired temp (going above), the rate at which the fluid starts to break down goes up exponentially. If you were say 20F above the ideal, you can probably drive the car for a year or so like that. You get the temp say 100F above, now you have hours. Get up to 200F above, you are now looking at minutes.

If you look on here, there are a lot of "how-to's" on how to change the tranny fluid. Just be ready to do multiple drain and fills as you can't get all the fluid out in 1 shot. You can get about 1/3 of the fluid out at any given time.

"Sealed for life"! I always thought there was always a limited service life for any fluid used in a car. I'll go with your recommended interval of 60K miles between changes.

See my post on your other thread. If you look up my name in search there is a couple of descriptions of correct fluid type and one with procedure I used with pics. Mine (I'm sure never changed before I bought it) had 130,000+ miles on it and it was BAD and smelled really odd on the drain.

Default Big favor. X type Electric diagrama ac issues

Hi

hope you can help me out. I saw you helped someone with my same issue. I have a 2002 X Type 3.0 with a/c electrical problems. I was hoping you can share the eléctrical diagrama. I Just put in a New compressor and the ac fuse #23 keeps blowing. The eres in that ínterconnect from relax and fuse are fine. Just need to check the ones that hook up to the unit. But worst case. I Want to know if i can send a New wire from the relay to the possitive wire that connects to the compressor instead of the one that goes vía the harness. Thank you very much. I got my 2006 3.0 X Type at 62k miles last year and have put nearly 20k more on her since. Mostly highway and open road driving, not much in town.
First preventive maintainence task I did was to get the transfer box and transmission oils changed by a specialist. The car has been absolutely excellent and shifts perfectly so I consider this money well spent.
The guy at the garage said the old oil was certainly in a well used condition!
