Hello there I'm hoping someone can help, got a 55 plate x type estate and when it starts it's lumpy but after about 5 seconds it's fine. The glow plug and engine management light comes on then goes off any ideas what that could be? I have got a little diesel leak on the injectors maybe that has something to do with it?

 

Keith, try something for me. When you get into the car, turn the key to the RUN position and wait a few seconds. Then turn the key the last little bit to start the car. If you find that your car starts much better, then you have a fuel pump that is failing and it is allowing the fuel to drain back to the fuel tank and you are having to fill the fuel line as you are starting the car which can cause interesting things to happen.
