Juan, if you have a pre 2004.25 X-Type, I would say to go with the BLuetooth ELM327 and then download the Torque App for your android phone. For $20, it is really hard to beat and it also gives you the ability to do real time data viewing. You can even register the program ($5) and get ballpark power figures for the car (fasten phone to dash, tell it you are doing a run, and it will calculate the power). Unfortunately, if you have an iPhone, then you are out of luck. For that, I would say to use one of the cheaper Actron units. They can be had for around $80 or so.

Keep in mind that the more things you want to look at, the more it is going to cost you. For example, if you want a reader to do body codes, chassis codes, etc, then you are easily into the $500 range if not much higher. Really depends on what you are looking to view.

I bought a used one for $20 dollars off of crags-list. It does a good job of giving me general codes where the problems at.

I keep getting gear fault
P1747
C1155

These come at time then ease
P1582
P0116
P1796

The wheel sencer I replaced but c1155 still shows up I fear that the trans is not getting the proper single & when I shift into different speeds the are goes into gear fualt mode

As for the p1796 I pulled out both ecm & tcm no sign of water damage but clean - taped around the seals - & sprayed Crc Electrical grade2-26 into the connectors -
But no change

Now all this started to happen when I notice my antifreeze reserver was leaking - I orders a brand new one but shipping got delayed two weeks so I know lots of liquid went all over the engine bay - that may be causing this as well - I heard thy the harness to trans might have corrosion but not to sure how to tackle that with out damaging any thing
