Default 235 60 16 fitment

I found a set of almost new Good year ultra grip ice P235/60/R16 on craigslist for a good price. Question is will these fit my stock 16" rims and wheel well without rubbing? We just bought our x-type from my brother in law a few days ago. 20k miles on a 2002. Still has the brand new car smell! Little to say the tires need replaced from sitting so I thought I would get a good set of winters for the stock rims since I live in norther ohio and tis the season, and get a set new rims and tires for summer. I did a search but wasn't coming up with anything. The awd in this car is awesome in snow. I think it treads better through it than my Land cruiser minus the ground clearance. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Circinus, I think you are going to find that you are going to have some minor rubbing issues at the top of the wheel well with the car loaded down and possibly when attempting to turn (about half way between straight ahead and wheel lock). But, give it a try and see. Can't loose much at this point since you already have the tires.

By the way, welcome to the forums. I think you will find a lot of good information here. I grew up not too far from you, I was in Swanton. I was just back in that area for Christmas. So, if you ever see a British Racing green X-Type running around with Maryland plates, make sure to honk and get my attention.

Thanks Thermo. I don't have the winter tires yet but their listed for $300 and I thought if they fit without rubbing, what the hay save a hundred or more sounded good to me and I was gonna throw out an offer to him. I was hoping but my eyes were telling me there's not much room in those wheel wells. My wife works downtown so if there's a chance they might rub they will for sure rub on those Beautiful winter downtown streets here in good old T-town.

I'm a forum junkie & owning a Landcruiser and a z car and the support I'm use to having there, I was beyond happy to find you guys here. The search bar answered most of my questions and by looking around I've found out so much info I'm in X-Type OD right now. I hope you guys like pictures cause I'm a photo addict when I do things to my cars. Hope I will be able to add to the awesome amount of data you guys have here. Feels like a good home here.
