Default 5.7 Bosch ABS module compatibility

Hello friends, I'm dealing with an ABS module issue and was looking for some help/feedback. My 2006 X-Type developed an intermittent P1637 code issue. I've traced the problem to the ABS module (Bosch 265 950 065). I sent the module away to a reputable ECM repair business, but unfortunately they told me the module is unrepairable. My problem is I can't find a replacement module with the exact s/n number. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and how did they resolve the issue.
My next question is, if I find a more common Bosch 5.7 ABS module, say one without DSC, can I install that module and have a Jag dealer configure that module to my car? Also, does anyone know if the software needed to reconfigure options in the ECM is dealership available only? Would I be able to reconfigure with a quality Snap-On diagnostic tool? Thanks

Hi there, sorry to hear about your problems….i think you just need to search out other companies- other members have gotten their ABS modules successfully rebuilt. As far as I know something like a 5.7 Bosch module will not work. I was able to source a brand new-old stock unit, and all I did was take the old computer out of my car and screw the new one in , in 30 minutes and that solved my issues.

I found new-old stock units online for +$5k so that's not an option. The part number for the complete ABS unit is C2S46685 for my serial number range.

Hi there……..First of, I think the ABS module is exactly the same part from beginning to end of production, but the Bosch number you gave is different than mine so now I am confused …. have a 05 model. It could just be that one number superseded the other.

Also, typically you don’t need to change the entire ABS PUMP , unless you are already flushing your entire system out and want to to do that . What has failed is just the black module itself. You just get a new module and screw it in. I got an entire new ABS pump complete with the module, unscrewed the new module from the new part and screwed it into my car. Light immediately came of and ABS starting operating as intended.

I have no business connection with the source that I got the NOS ABS module from, but I can PM you the information. It was NOT 5k dollars

Were the Bosch module numbers different on the units you swapped out? I'm just wondering if any 265 950 xxx will work in my car. I've determined there is a part number split for the complete ABS units between 2002-04 and 2005-07 models (and of course different part numbers for DSC and non-DSC units). And correct I'm just looking to swap the Bosch module not the complete unit (module and pump).

Just a quick update, I replaced my ABS module and haven't had the code come back so far. The replacement module was from an older DSC X-Type and the serial number wasn't an exact match but was plug and play. No issues or fault codes showed up after replacement. Hope this helps anyone with a similar issue.

Hi AHooson, I'm having the same problem, P1637 and P1799 codes (CAN-network problem), and I also have Bosch 265 950 065 (2004 2.5L AWD with DSC).
I've done extensive research, and determined after few days of testing and measuring components & wiring, that the ABS control unit is bad. I've sent my unit for repair, but I'm expecting it to be not repairable, since the can-wires inside the unit are almost impossible to repair/resolder..
What was the module part number, that you replaced your original unit with?

My replacement ABS module was a Bosch 265 950 029. I've driven about 1K km without issue. Hope this helps.
