Hello Chaps,
I have a 2006 X Type Estate, which has a 6 Speed Manual gearbox. I would like to change the gear knob to a wooden type, mainly because it's a little worn. Also in my XJ8 I had a walnut gear knob on that, and it felt nice in my hand.

The problem I have is, the 6 Speed has a lift up reverse gear selection, and I can't figure out an obvious way to remove the knob from the lever. I really don't want to break this car before I get it on the road, so any help would be really appreciated!
