I've been looking for topics for more than 2 hrs about this problem, but couldn't find a match. Here's my problem: when the ABS light turns on cruise control stops working. I have to turn the car off and on again to be able to turn cruise control on. Today I changed the front brakes pads and rotor plus a full inspection of the whole brake system, but the problem is still there. Connected a scan, but no code. Help will be greatly appreciated.

 

A common problem with our cars is the rear ABS speed sensor rings rust and break and even fall off sometimes. They are located on the outer CV joints on the back axles. You will need to jack the rear of the car up and look throught the suspension arm to see them.
When these go bad you get an ABS light--and often/usually a code related to the offending wheel. Not sure why you are not getting a code or perhaps the code reader you are uisng can not read ABS codes??? Cruise will not work in the event of an ABS fault.
Take a look at both back outer CV joints. You will need to rotate the wheels to inspect the rings.

 

Agree with the above, you probably have a reluctor ring problem or lesss likely the wiring (£10 from dealer) to a front speed sensor (2 reluctor rings and a wire failed over a period on my X Type)
