I have problems with the battery light coming on some times .came on this morning again, got meter out across battery charging at 14.47 volts ,engine off 12.30 volts , some time it flashes ,some stop on for a few minutes ,then it stop off for a couple of weeks any ideas

Clean and polish the battery cable connections. Also check the cable connectors for corrosion and fraying. You are getting high resistance under a load. To be sure next time the light is on put your hand near the cable/battery posts. You will probably find they are to hot to touch.
If it continues after cleaning then you are faced with a failing cable.
