Default AC compressor oil

Hi everyone, quick question. Are the AC compressors on the X-Type filled with oil separately, or can they be lubricated by charging the system from the low pressure port (recharge kits often advertise that they contain oil)?

Yes you can charge the oil via the suction side port (use PAG oil)..BUT, are you sure you need to add oil ???..This is the one way you will kill the compressor and/or best case, reduce the capacity of the system...I caution you on adding ANY oil unless you are certain that you lost enough that it will matter..the A/C system with Compressor comes factory charged with 20% excess oil for minute leaks over the life of the system..

If however your compressor is rattling and it's not the clutch (as those tend to loosen and rattle)..then Adding any oil will only maybe prolong the life of the compressor a short while, factually, it is on it's last legs if it is rattling, regardless of the reasons.
