AC question, yes I know it's been discussed to death=)
From what I've read the ac system operates with about 30-40 lbs of pressure. I checked it and I had about 31 lbs, so I added just a little bit and took it to 35 lbs of pressure. I didn't not add oil, since I put just a little amount of freon. Should I get the little can that is mainly oil and add it? It is a 2002 so it is 8 years old and I imagine over time it can lose a slight amount of freon, but does it lose a slight amount of oil also? Is the 30-40 lbs correct? If I add the oil, how do I know if I add too much oil if it doesn't need any?

Jeff, based on how little freon you added, there should be plenty of oil left in the system. So, I would not worry about adding just oil. But, with that being said, if you ever have to add more, then I would make sure that the new freon has oil in it or you add the contents of an oil only container.
