does any other tranny fit an 03 x type or do i need a x type tranny?
i officially believe i need to look for a new tranny and i dont want to spend to much money.

 

Charm, as for one that will bolt up, you can pull a tranny from out of another Ford product that is also using the 3.0L engine (same block design). But, the issue comes whether the computer side of things will still work. I don't know enough about that to say beyond a shadow of a doubt whether it will work or not. You can talk to a wrecking yard and they will have the cross reference material for that and be able to tell you what, if any, will cross over.
