Default Adivice for new x owner

I just bought a 2002 X Type, 2.5 Auto with 58k on it. I noticed there is almost no recommended service sans oil changes every 5k. I just changed the plugs, a job that appears to be daunting but it's actually not at all. I did it in less than 2 hrs in my driveway w/o a manual. I know the transmission, transfer cases and differentials say lifetime fill. I am little leery of that. I own two BMWs and they say the same thing "lifetime fill" but everybody recommends changing those fluids at least after 100k. Is this the same case here? i.e not required but highly recommended.

I know about the oil pan issue and it appears that I dont have that problem that the pan gasket has already been replaced.

Any other issues I should look out for?
