Advice on Navigation on an X-Type 2002
Hey guys. I am a new owner of a 2002 Jaguar X-Type 3.0L. When I bought the car I though it came with a cd changer and stuff, but it turned out it came only with a cassette player. I wanted to see if I can upgrade it to the factory Navigation system with a CD Player or changer, I can find them on ebay at a descent price. I want it to look stock and clean, I also was wondering if I can upgrade it to the premium sound package (buy the OEM Alpine speakers and tweeters for the front doors, alpine speakers for the back and the speakers in the trunk). My question is, how can I do that is there going to be any conflict between the regular radio and the navigation, Can I run some more wires for the speakers? Right now I have only 4 speakers and they do not sound good, I want to upgrade to 8 Speakers. but all factory. ( I am a huge fan of factory look). What do you think will it be possible? Any help will be greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
There's a comprehensive how to on the UK forum for the sat nav retro fit, may be slight differences but shouldn't be much different for US vehicles. Plenty on there also about premium audio and fitting CD changer. Retrofitting touch screen sat nav controls
