Advice urgently wanted please - Bonnet won't open

Hi,

I have a 2004 Jag X-Type 2.5 and one of the bonnet cables has popped off. Can anyone tell me how I can open the bonnet!

Had this happen to me, and it was a giant PIA. The video that Dell posted is probably the best one I've seen on the problem. Once you get the hood open you should strongly consider replacing the cable; if the rubber grommet on the cable popped off its bracket it's probably worn and will undoubtedly do it again. Not a fun job, but a lot easier if you have access to a lift. My mechanic said that his flat-rate book allowed about an hour for the cable replacement. Had I known that before I got involved with the project, I would gladly have written that check!
