Default Alarm horn beeps 2 times. Remote unlocks not locks doors

I think I might have a bad hood pin. I have done some research and think this might be the issue. I looked under the hood but can't find the location of the alarm hood pin. Can anyone tell me where to locate the alarm hood pin or provide a picture? Also, does anyone have a link where I can buy a replacement hood pin. I do not mind locking the door with the key, but I get off work at midnight and when I use the key, the horn beeps twice so might be annoying to neighbors. Thanks all.

Don't know on the X but on many cars (mine too) you're looking for something much bigger than a pin. It's a spring-loaded thing in a rubber body and is pushed down when the bonnet (hood) shuts. So open bonnet, go round pressing things around its margin. Mine's at the front.

Or get JTIS (free download) and read up on where it is - or any parts diagram should show it.

Hi.

In my car (2006) what you call a hood pin, is located inside a flexible rubber tower again located on the left hand side by the shock/spring top mount.

Do you have a hood open warning with hood closed?

Well, turns out...a squirrel or rabbit made a nest in the wheel well. Ended up biting through the wires causing all the faults. From what the mechanic told me, the rodents like the wires for their teeth and some of the wires are made with peanut oil. After getting the chewed through wires fixed, all the faults seem to be fixed. I live in Colorado and when we get snow or it gets cold...I can see how the critters will go into a wheel well and make a nest. This time it cost me some money. So, for closure....this was the issue, not the car. All is well now. Snow season is coming, the OEM rims are on with snow tires, all new brakes, and new battery. Got new shocks and struts. Bring on the winter.
