alpine radio code missing
Hi
Just bought an x-type and noticed it needs radio code but i cant find it written anywhere.
Can anyone help me please, its an alpine
model: 1X43 18K876 AC
serial: JATT4011053729
Anyone know if I need to goto jag to get it or another cheap site that can give it to me, I have seen various sites offering to do it but wondered if anyone knew of a cheap one or better still a free one :-)
Thanks

I have e-mailed a few jag dealers with the info to see if any of them come back with a code
in the meantime............ ITS WORKING!!!!! :-)
I found this and it worked - to my amazement!!!!!
pty + mix + mode (press together a few times at the same time)
and after that:
pty + mix + fast forward (press together a few times at the same time)
Just wondering if this would be good to stick in the HOW-TO's

Having same problem.
First gave VIN to dealer. They wanted me to make appt so they could remove radio & get serno. I read about pressing 2 & 6 buttons at same time & came up with an 11 digit alpha-numeric code on display. I put that code in on one of the 'pay for it radio code websites' & it claims there is a code for the radio if I pay for it.
So I emailed pics to dealer of both VIN & alpha-numeric code from radio display, and the dealer claims it means nothing. They want me to make appt to come in and have radio removed. I can remove radio myself & email pic of the serno, however, I think dealer wants to make a few bucks off of me & probably still won't give it to me.

I gave them the Reg of the car, the VIN, the radio model and radio serial.

Guess my next step is removing the radio. I do have to laugh at the secrecy over the radio code for a 12 year old car. I do see Jaguar puts great emphasis on anti-theft, such as the locking clips for splashguards. First time I dealt with them, I cussed every word in the book. Then I developed a method of getting the sawtooth locking clips apart in a jiffy. I was just amazed that a $40 item had such a great security feature. But this radio code? I'm starting to believe one has to be a member of some sort of Jaguar Secret Radio Code Society to get it.
