Default Another snow tire question

Im so mad!
I have 3 almost new nokian hakkapeliitta snow tires, couldnt find the 4th so i bought a full set of good condition dunlop graspic snow tires.
Just tried to have them mounted, and the 1st tire they tried had a slice cut in the bead of the tire.
A. Is it possible that the tire machine or operator did this?
B. How unsafe is it to put 2 nokian tires up front and 2 dunlops on back?
All tires are 225/45/17
C. Do u have 4 snow tires for sale cheap???

I Own Me. you're just having a wonderful, inexpensive time and experience with all this kerfuffle, eh?

Okay, methinks the Universe is trying to tell you something.

Here's my best guess (without asking the 8 Ball I keep in the drawer):

First: you have a bit of "trading stock" for easy sale on Craigslist now. Other people will want those tires, you're not in that bad of shape, at best it will be a "wash";

Second: you need a full, dedicated set of winter tires, on their own wheels, so you don't have to jockey the wheels down to the local tire store every winter season, where some ******** can pinch, slice and bruise the seal, all the while as they tweak, bend and scratch your super-beautiful JAGUAR wheels.

Call the Sales Rep at Tire Rack (a forum sponsor, and I really like these folks, as they deal with the best local tire shops and give the best prices, and the shop is happy with the deal, the don't act like their nose is bent outta shape) and purchase four matching super ice and snow STUDDED tires. Do not omit the studs. The very first time you wend your way around everyone who is either stuck, spinning or can't stop you will understand the wisdom and utility of studded tires.

I have driven my 2002 X-Type over 100 miles per hour on ice that one could not remain standing on - it was that slick - with my Pirelli Ice & Snow Studded Tires. I should mention that I also stomped the brakes, full flat to the floorboard at that speed to stop, and the X brought me to a stop in a perfectly straight line (the ABS working like crazy, mind you!) only 10 feet beyond where I had intended to stop (one helleva call at 100+ mph I should mention!)

Then spend the winter watching Ebay.com for a nice set of "re-manufactured" wheels, for your summer tires. I did such, and managed to find four, all painted, baked, straight, beautiful, and delivered for $125 each. Actually, I also bought a fifth one, for a full-sized spare (since our "X's" are so so so finicky about mismatched wheel/tire sizes. You can burn out a Transfer Case in very short order with the slightest bit of mismatch, if you search, poke around and read, you'll never even ask about mixing tires again - not even used and new of the identical tire!)

One set of tires and wheels for winter, one set for summer.

And trust me on the studded thing -

Thank you for the great advice.... Tho all my issues stem from not having
The $ for new tires and another set of rims. Tirerack etc are out of the question.
Rural upstate NY is not a good place to find (or sell) 45 profile tires,
Its all suvs and trucks here!.
So my new question is.... Can i use 225/50/17 ?, there is an affordable set
Of snows this size locally right now. I seem to remember the car having
This size when i bought it.
Sorry my cheapass has to ask all these stoopid questions, i used to have
Plenty o $.... But now im a brokassbitch :@) oh well, the peaks and valleys
of life!!!

p.s. check the d.o.t. 4 digit code on the sidewall. it tells you the week and year the tire was made. if mismatched or older than 5 years old...maybe not
