Default Anyone bought from buyautoparts.com? Jagbits

I need a new Throttle Body for my 2002 Jaguar X Type. Their site claims to offer a new OEM Throttle body for $529. I am being quoted $1,500 to $2,200
by repair shops in Las Vegas.

I called them and they claim they import the part OEM from the UK. The same part Jaguar used.

I checked their listing with BBB and there are over a hundred complaints like parts not working, wrong parts, used instead of new etc.

Anyone have a good experience with them?

I am also considering Jagbits I know they are sponsors of this site so I assume they are reputable if more expensive. Any feedback on Jagbits would also be appreciated.
Thanks Chris

I recommend Jagbits You will NOT be disappointed we haven't had a BBB complaint ever been around since 1996

I have never used buyautoparts.com before but after looking at the site I do like their prices.

After you mentioned their poor BBB reviews I did a little digging. It appears they still have an A+ rating on the BBB so most of those complaints must have been unwarranted or buyautoparts.com solved the issues in the right way. It looks like they also won a BBB award this year,

I also see that they have good ratings on the below sites.

I might give them a try next time.

If you do end up buying from them let me know how it goes.

I took the plunge and ordered a OEM throttle body for my Jaguar X-Type from them $499. I will get it next week and will let you know how it works out.

I reached out to BuyAutoParts for one of their name brand Throttle bodies for $300 bucks and I got an email back about a week later that they were out of stock. That was 3 weeks ago. I asked it they had the OEM one in stock and they said they would be out of stock of both for about 30 days. I called Jabits and Gary was VERY helpful. I was on a tight budget so I bought elsewhere, but my experience with BuyAutoParts was short lived and disappointing. I'd recommend Jagbits for the throttle body since Gary was the second lowest price and he was up front and honest in his communication. The website I bought from was ShopDealerParts.com and they have since taken the site down. My business will go through Gary for now on. Plus he gives 5% off for forum members.

We run a shop, pretty good volume. I buy from Jagbits whenever I can't get what I need from our WD. I have never had a bad experience. Gary is great to work with.

Default Followup

I was told by a mechanic that my throttle body was shot along with the oxygen sensor.

I replaced the sensor.

I read on the forum to first try cleaning the old throttle body I did that and it did not work.

Well I bought a new throttle body from buyautoparts.com. I took it to one shop to install but they said they needed to flash the on board computer to recognize the new part. Cost $300 just for that, not including labor.

I read here the part is basically plug and play part so I had another guy install it.

He disconnected the battery first so the computer would hard reset.

The new throttle body made the car idle to fast about 1200 rpm she was really straining. Worse as soon as the new throttle body was installed the check engine light came on and a general gearbox fault appeared on the dash.

His diagnostic tool showed wrong throttle angle. He tried manually adjusting the sensor but there was no change. He put the old throttle body back in but the check engine light stayed on and now the car bucks hard if I put it in gear.

Lastly the car won't start as one of the connecters to the throttle body broke so it's not making a good connection. He is trying to locate a used one, as of course this is not a standard part but unique to Jaguar.

All in all a complete nightmare I am ready to write off the whole car.
