i was looking at Royal Purple/Coolant radiator additive 01600 - Read Reviews on Royal Purple #01600
this royal purple additive.
just wondering if anyone has experienced any benefits from using a coolant additive vs not

If you change the coolant regularly and the rest of the system is working properly not sure what this is supposed to do. The car is designed to work optimally in a certain range and the system does a good job of controlling that. There should be no need for a product like that under normal driving. Just my two cents. Stuff like this always seem to bring out a variety of opinions.
In simple terms..the additive is suppose to make the coolant more heat conductive to carry away heat better or fast from the engine into the coolant to be dispelled through the radiator...jury is still out for me.
And why would that be necessary if the system is already doing an effective job of that? If the goal was to get the system to run as cool as possible maybe that would have some value, but it isn't. You want it to run within the temperatures it was designed to optimally run and it already does that, if your system is working properly. Now if you are trying for a miracle cure in a bottle because your car is overheating and, you are trying for an easy "fix, good luck. Just doesn't pass the smell test for me, but I do admit I am far from being the most technologically savvy member on here. Maybe some more knowledgeable can educate me on why that might have value.
In the Jag, not a big difference, three to five degrees F difference, that only at idle.
In the Disco, BIG difference...never saw the high side of 200ºF after it was added, a solid 15 degree drop, and never cooked another head gasket after that. That was an 8% drop in engine temps!
I use the Red-Line water wetter. It is a surfactant, essentially a substance that breaks down the 'surface' of the coolant.
In the Jag, it really won't do any harm, but it also doesn't help much, especially if you're using the Pentosin anti-freeze already.
Is it safe? Well, they run it (under the manufacturer's recommendation) in million-dollar locomotives, so...
