I would love to go home, but I got another freaking hour of work. I'm going to check out a friend's HID's that he got for 200 bucks and they've been good for over a month now. They look awesome but I'm scared that they're going to blow on my S!

 

I don't think I'd worry about them blowing, I investigated the regular halogens that sylvania has in the cars and the coil inside/filament is way thicker than the ones in the silverstars, my 100watters, and the xenon brand bulbs i've tried. I think the problem comes from a surge when the starter requires some juice and the power ends up pulling it from everywhere and the lights get a surge. You can get certain things to protect the electrical when it comes to a surge, once I get closer to getting some I'll investigate some more. I'd go to a local radio shack or something like that to see what they have!

 

Something to protect surges? I don't know why, but for some reason fuses come to mind!

 

No something like a capacitator or something. A fuse keeps from a surge but it won't take a huge surge to blow these bulbs.

 

How big would a capacitor for headlights be? The one for my amp is as big as a 1 liter coke!

 

Dang thats a big cap what does your cap say on the top for the farad? You must have alot of power in that trunk of yours-eh?

 

Well, In my 240 I have Kicker 12's powered by a 1600 watt Kicker amp. Not much power but WAY more than enough for a hatchback.

 

Dang you need some more amps back up in there to use that cap for what its there for!!!! Kind of head units you usually go for?

 

Arctic white bulbs?
