Question Automatic shifter handle

I have looked all over the forum, and internet, and cannot find a method for removing the shifter ball or handle from an automatic shifter of a 2007. I have seen an earlier metal base with set screws to release it, but my 07 has a black base that looks like plastic. Are the set screws under the black covering. There are some really beautiful burlwood shift knobs on Ebay, saying they would fit an automatic X Type, but I do not want to damage my car installing one. If anyone knows for sure, please help. I would be forever thankful.....Be cool.....Mike

On mine I can remove shifter ball by simply turning it anti-clockwise, it may need a some force to get it moving. It has a rivet nut inside the wood.
