Default awesome shift knob sold on eBay. Can they fit x?

eBay has these awesome custom shift knobs for jags that would look awesome on my car, but none say specifically they fit a x type. They do list every other jag known to man however. Are all the threads universal or would buying one of these a mistake?

Does your shift knob thread on and off? If so it would be a safe bet. Post up what the thread size is for the shifter.... I have a custom shift knob that was on the S Type and it had regular metric bolt thread.

All modern Jaguar shifters have the 8MM threaded shaft, including the X. Beware of "universal fit", or anything that employs shims/set screws.

There is a guy in Orlando that makes beautiful wood stuff for the Jag. I have one of his shift knobs. If needed, I'll get his email, and catalog. His name is Saul Chapman..a Brit, and a real pleasure to deal with

If you are on eBay, look for this seller as well. bruce*459 He is in Canada but will ship to USA. He made me a beautiful piano black knob with a green and silver growler inlay. Great job although a bit pricey.

Bruce*459 also has a store; it is here: items in laila459 store on eBay!

Funny that I have these guys saved still... Anyway I ended up buying from this guy: His user Zahnieblack His store: Fishing Books, Burl Wood items in Jaguar Custom Creations and More store on eBay!

I highly recommend him. See, for some reason my shift knob started to develop a very small crack over a year after I bought it. I contacted him to ask how I could repair it and what to use before it became an actual problem. He asked me to send it to him. He refinished it for $0.00 and sent it back to me within a week....without me asking for it... Good guy!
