Hi All,

Does Bilstein offer front B6 replacement sport shocks for the X-type? I can only find the rears being offered.

How does the B6's compare to the B4's (I believe B4's are OEM style)?

I had to get the fronts from Germany. Yes, Im nuts, as to why I'd spend so much money on a winter car!

The ride/handling compromise is great for Nevada and California, for the midwest with the broken roads, it was still ok.

The B4s ARE OEM style. The B6s aren't bad at all, even when I drove it in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Some of the broken roads would upset me and feel like it was upsetting the damper bushes. If you have 16 inch wheels the primary ride will still be great. I had 17s fitted but when bigger on tyre profiles (and changed the overall wheel diiameters).

I HAVE driven a B4 suspended Sport X type but it was a long time ago now. The X type non sport suspension was nice and soft but not as soft as my X308 XJR.

Did you have any trouble fitting the front struts? Bilstein claims they removed them from the North American market as they don't fit.

I wonder how much firmer the B6s are over the sport struts.

No real problems, the only thing is that there are no bump stops. For me, brought up in Europe, the ride/handling compromise is perfect. It's still refined. I drove it a bit in teh mid west over the terrible roads and it was still ok, over here out west its perfect.

I prefer the ride/handling compromise to my company acura integra which has all this electronic stuff and much more road surface noise intrusion
