I just put my winter wheel/tire (tyre) set on my '03 2.5 litre Sport Pkg, and my NEW (June '10) summer shoes are carved right down to the belts on the inside edges of both front wheels. To make it worse, my local garage says the camber is badly out ("in the red") and that there is no way to ajust it. Do I switch cars, or mechanics ?

I'm assuming they put it on an alignment machine right? Did they check the condition of the bushings and wheel bearings? Did they check your toe as toe out can lead to the inner side being worn.

Yes, yes, and You're right, but the tires are ground right down sharply on the edge by contact with the underbody when the front suspension is loaded up.

You never noticed any noise from the tires rubbing?

Stock wheels and tire size? Stock springs?

Got'cha now, you need to leave the boat anchor in the trunk. How many miles are on the car? You shouldn't be making any contact in there unless you modified it. Bad springs? Bad struts? I still think you must have some broken bushings in there which would be causing the camber to be way out. Can you see what it is hitting. If the tires are that worn you should have some rub marks.
