Default Battery electrolyte

Just an FYI. I was having an no start with my 07 X Type. Hooked up the Diehard jump starter and was getting 12.5 volts. I found that the electrolyte was low in every cell. Topped off with distilled water and haven't had a no start since then! I believe this is the original battery in the car.

Good point! I have a 2005 S-Type with the original battery and I haven't had any issues with it. I do check the electrolyte level frequently and top off as needed.

I don't think anyone has an '02 with the original battery. It probably 'xploded years ago.

mohrd, my 03 battery lasted until last year. So, it isn't too far out there. My Ford truck battery made it a full 10 years before dying. I could have probably milked another year out of it, but it was starting to show its age and I figured before it stranded me, I would pop in a new one. But then, I have a slight advantage over most in that I have training on how to deal with batteries and how to make them last a fairly long time.
