Default Battery Replacement

I stopped by Advance for a replacement battery this afternoon and they stated that they were unable to replace the battery in my car. Is there something special that needs done during the replacement that would cause issues if it were skipped?

Thanks,
frank

I have had my battery out of the car several times with no issues. I have a feeling they are afraid of screwing something up but shouldn't be. No worries- J

Thank you very much! I was worried about messing up the security system or electronics in some way.

Snake: Disconnecting the battery won't damage anything.

Afterwards, you'll need to reset the windows and sunroof, if you prefer the 'one touch' feature: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ws-reset-1916/

The A and B trip odometers will reset to 0. They're useful for tracking oil change and tire rotation intervals, so I note the trip miles before disconnecting the battery.

The passenger compartment temperature controls will default from Fahrenheit back to Centigrade.

Radio station presents remain, but the clock will default to 12:00AM and need to be reset.

The ECM will "relearn" the many sensor signals and optimize engine conditions and controls. Nothing for you to do except drive as you normally do.

That's all I recall at the moment.

I have something I made for saving the memories. It is made out of a 9 volt transistor radio battery, and a plug for the cigarette lighter, that was cut off some deceased accessory. Connect the battery, to the plug with the negative going to the side of the plug, and the positive going to the center contact of the plug. I would show you the complicated apparatus, but I left my meter on, and needed the battery(dumba$$)
