Battery suppliers / prices etc etc - info needed
Hi ALL.....just noticed that with winter here there seems to be morew n more posts about batteries giving up, going bad, start up problems etc etc etc.
I know there's been a few posts here n there about where to buy from, best prices etc but...
I thought it might be a good idea for anyone / ALL with experience of changing a battery, having to check out the best place to buy from, the best best battery to replace with, the best prices etc to add their thoughts here.
Perhaps we can get enough good info to make it a FAQ for anyone to view in future!
Thanks
Jim

RE: Battery suppliers / prices etc etc - info needed
Jim, I posted a lot of good info under the "I NEED A BATTERY" forum. While I didn't say "store X has the best price", I did give people a ton of knowledge that they can read up on.
In short: 02-03 X-types require a Type 92 battery, 04-06 X-types require a Type 94R battery, and the 07+ X-types need a Type 47 battery. All of these batteries should have a CCA rating of atleast 720 (granted, getting much above 720 won't gain you anything though either). Also, all batteries sold in the US are made by 1 of 3 manufacturers. So, the main difference is the color of the sticker on the outside of the box. Do some looking around and see what you can find in the way of price. The exception to this rule is the Optima spiral batteries and if you wantto know more about this type of battery, let me know.
