thank for the link guys ill give it ago bruning it onto a dual layer cd if this doesnt work then ill try the latest maps update.

 

hi guys i followed the steps burning the file onto a MUST DUAL LAYER DVD load it up in teh read in the car gave it 5 mins to load itself up and screen came back to life clear error code 50/51......now i just have to find out why theres no air blowing out of the aircon ..all the button works fine we have the heater core taken out for replacement but not yet re installed not sure if that could be the cause.

I burned the .KWI file via drag and drop using the 2.4x write speed onto a Dual Layer DVD-R. We took out the Nav disc, inserted the new disc and immediately shut off the ignition, then turned it back on. The disc is spinning, but still no screen after 10 minutes.

Any ideas if we did anything wrong? The screen blinks for a sec, but still reading error 50/51.

I re-burned it using PowerISO free download software as SolidX suggested in an earlier post at the 2.4x write speed. Put the DVD-R DL in and immediately turned off the ignition. When I turned it back on, I only did one click of the key in "accessory" mode and wall-ah! It is all working now!

hi i done mine yesterday and it worked fine had the error code 50 and 51 blank screen no climate control etc...

steps i done TDK DUAL LAYER DVD+R
Used nero to burn the file(once burnt i went to my DVD rom on my computer check the file is there)

started the car while running took out the map and inserted the KWI DVD and then turn off the car completely and then started the car untill the engine was running and then left it running for 5mins so the software can update it self (the screen will remain black untill its finished once finished it shoudl display CD sound system and then u can take out the kwi file and insert the maps and press NAV button it will load the maps and back to normal...

 

i have try to burn it 2twice but not loading in my car. pls tell me the best way to burn it on dual layer. the software is not recognising it, so i by right click on the file from my download and select nero and press burn.
pls help me if possible.

Does anyone have the system disk for a 2006 XJ8. I have the new NAV, but do not have the system disk. I have all the 50 and 51 error systems of the failed screen. Thanks..

Many apologies for last post as used no manners im looking for the software download to restart sat nav i have updated maps disc however blank screen and lower screen flashing 50/51 and blowers on and loss of lcd panel control buttons. i purchased my x type 2.5 sport 53 plate a short time ago and screen was fine, i purchased updated maps dvd and screen no longer working. i tried disconnecting battery as advised in earlier posts and still nothing. I have seen there is software available by you guys and would really appreciate someone emailing me this info. I am also now aware i will need a pass code to unlock cd radio which i dont have either suggestions please HELP many thanks.

--- I tried the thread #89 KWI file. Nothing happened after letting it sit for 45 minutes with the ignition in the on position (after turning it off).


Problem solved, Thank you XJRGUY, you're advise was right on the money to reflash the Nav, it took 5 minutes..

A great explanation and solution but I am over 70 and double layer disc to my age group are 7" and have the Everly Brothers on both sides.
My question is I have a 2004 X350 4.2 having unsuccessfully tried to load new software, the screen has blacked out, the heater is going full blast (not very green) plus all the function buttons are inoperative.
Like many others I find the Jag agents from behind their highwaymen's mask are demanding so much money I have had a seizure. Whereas in my befuddled mind I think this is a software problem and probably the whole system needs re-programming, If any kind soul out there can offer me some advice before a resort to my bicycle I would be eternally grateful. Having just remembered (altzeimers allowing) I did compound the problem by aborting the load before it ended! whoops have I killed the beast ?

You may need a different disk, then the SYSTEM disk.

 

Can you send me also the file for updating my system?

I very much appreciate your help but unfortunately having wrestled with the mysteries of the ethernet since tea I have been unable to contact you and thank you personally, however I have resolved my problem with the car by grovelling and offering inducements to my "computer savvy" nephew who has managed to unravel the problem and solve it with the help of the people on this forum. Many thanks to all of you. I have parked up my trusty old bicycle, with a squirt of WD40 ( the mechanical version of brandy) and sunk into the comfort of the Jag again.

Hi to all I have the same problem with my 2003 S type blank screen.
If possible can any one send me the soft ware files so I can copy to a blank DVD.
I don't have the s/w cd I hit the key by mistake and there after a blank screen.
I have placed a order for the new 2012 sat nav maps but I don't think it will come with the software. Thanks and happy new year.

Hi To all today I recieved my coped cd sat nav disc 2011/2012 after my to post above with the blank screen, I tried the KWI down load but with no luck I copped it on a single layer and a double but still don,t work.

SO when My copyed sat nav dvd maps came though the post 2011/2012 map I put it in the s type jag 2004 denso DVD player I waited 3 mins with engine on and to my suprise screen came a live asking me for the 4 digit code.
The new maps are working and I have the black jaguar with the white clock on the top wright of the screen.

All for just 9 Euros on ebay.......................
