Bluetooth use
I have an '06 X-Type that is not equipped with the phone module or the touch screen module. ;-(
Can this be added after the fact; what is involved in terms of bits and pieces; and an approximate cost?

I don't think is that easy because the car wasn't designed for it, but would you consider a kit like this one?
I seen many customers with their Jags that try to do this and end up getting in trouble with no success. Good luck though!
