Default Boot Mess HELP!

So I got a great deal on an X Type that had been smashed in the rear and with a new bumper, trunk lid and 18lb sledge I went about putting it back together. Because of the manner in which things were smashed, I cut the wiring harness where it enters the boot. Everything is coming along swimmingly and as I'm checking the alignment on the boot lid, it lines up beautifully and CLOSED! Being a Jag newbie, I was elated... that lasted about 3 seconds until I realized all access to the trunk is electric and the cabin is nice and tight, so there's no wedging the seats out to gain access. After looking at the worthless e-manual (e.g., to remove rear folding seats, fold the seat down...) I have been scouring the internet looking for a reasonable explanation of how to remove the rear seat so I can access the boot. Any chance one of you fine gents could nudge me in the correct direction (feel free to ridicule at will, I deserve it)

well If you take out the back seat bottom and there are torx bolts. That will loosen the seats enough to reach your arm inside to push the lever with a paint stick. The whole seat will not come off because of the lock at the top center of the seat.....Or you can break out the tail light and reach inside and pull the safety release handle....If you do that I have an extra one for sale. HAHA

Good Luck,
The Dr!
