borla exhaust
I am going to upgrade a few things on my car soon, and i would like to know if anyone on here has a borla exhaust installed on their x-type...i have a 2.5 and want to know if i'll get a deep sound. Racerx dont you have a borla?? got a sound clip of it hosted anywhere?? im used to laud cars so thats not my concern, i just want it sounding heavy and deep.

Yes, I have the borlas and they are sweet....sound sweet too. Nothing too loud, but let kind of a muffled 8 cylinder might make. Early mornings are the best when i start it makes tis deep, thump, thump, thump sound and just music to my ears......crusing down the road, not too bad...but when stomp on it...she opens up boy......real nice.
Bought mine from borla.com....I think i bought the set for a 2002 even though mine is an 05.

hey aquil, i searched but all i could come up with were a few threads, no sounds. on youtube if you put in xtype, there is a red one with a sick sounding exhuast coming out of a gas station, the poster put it up as a V8, thats how i want mine to sound. check it out, you too Racer, is that what the borla sounds like, cuz if it is, im sold!

Hey racer if you look up the clip he is looking for just typ x-type v8 and it is the only video that popped up for me...does sound pretty good though, I LOVE THOSE RIMS wish mine came with those stock! Also wish they weren't so freaking expensive! I'm gonna check on that sound clip again....

I havn't found a better price anywhere! $490's on froogle was all that I could find. Hey racer since you have the exhaust how possible is it to put quad tips on the exhaust vs. the single borla? I was just curious because I love the quad look!

I sure there are adapters you can buy, but you'll have to cut the borla's stainless steal tips (which will probably void the warranty) to make the quad look...
Best bet is if you like the look of the quad, buy the mufflers...lol

The arden quad looks sick, but it cost 1500 for the mufflers, and an additional 500 for the rear valance + paint. I'd rather stick with the dual borla ones at that price. Whatever you choose, im sure it will be an improvement to the small tips we have stock

I want nicer mufflers also, and I like borla's big ovals that fit right into our oval spots.
But I dont want anything too loud.. I want the car too still seem stock, as if it came from the factory pimp with big tips... Therefore I'm not sure I want too much sound. I'm into this car for the luxury and prestige on the street (like driving into the corporate headquarters I work at), not racing or sportiness or anything like that.
If anyone can supply a xtype borla sound file on here that would be greatly appreciated...
