Default Bought an 05 X-type on Copart need help and advice

hi all , first time posting so i recently purchased a 2005 X-Type 3.0 with Navi , 65k miles on it for a really good price ! but the down side this car was an auction on Copart. That being said the car has a significant amount of damage.

1st : There is front end damage with bent radiator support pushed back and bumper support bent into the radiator,

2nd Driver side airbags are out , bottom and steering wheel, passenger side airbags did not deploy.

3rd Brake is really stiff and pushed really down , and the transmission gives lot of play , no need to push down on the brakes to put the car from P - D while the car is off !

4th Car will not start at all , im thinking this has to be an issue with the brake being stiff and tranny giving alot of play,

5th Battery dies out very quick , Something is training the battery very fast !

Does anyone have experience with these issues?? Does anyone know what would be the best websites to purchase parts for a good price??

thank you !!!!

Have you checked the inertia switch? It has been in a serious accident and was probbaly tripped.

Just curious, can you share what you paid for the car? After all that is needed to get the car back to being roadworthy the "real good price" you paid might not seem so attractive. You have any pictures of the car? Have you done these kinds of reclamation projects in the past?

Welcome to the forums. If you do some searching on here you can pretty much find out anything that can happen to an X and how to fix it and wheer to find parts. Good luck, it sounds like you have quite a job on your hands.

Unless you shop for parts and do the work yourself I bet you could have gotten a road worthy for the same price in the end.

If you are going to do any of your own mechanical work on the car, you need to get the JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System) CD. It contains the service manual and some other information about the cars. It is available on eBay.

For parts, click on the VENDORS tab at the top of this forum. Also check eBay. New, re-built and used parts are readily available.

Good luck!
