Default Brake Booster

Help me, I'm a little bit confused.
After replacing the brake pads/discs, the brake booster started to behave strangely. When the engine stops, the brake pedal becomes immediately hard. When I start the engine and I push the pedal softly, it becomes hard after 1-2 secs. But when I press it almost halfway, it keeps the vacuum constantly. I checked the hoses and the vacuum generator (I don't know its precise name) and it seems, that it is the Booster, where the vacuum disappears.
I consulted my car mechanic, and he suggested, that though the Booster can be taken apart, it would be more effective to replace it instead of repairing.
So I recorded the ID I found on it (0204024043) and checked ebay.
I found this item POWER BRAKE BOOSTER Jaguar X-Type 2002 02 03 | eBay The picture says the very same ID, but the seller says, that it is "thru VIN D44087". My VIN ID is E59532.
Others say (Jaguar X-Type 2001-2008 Petrol/Diesel BRAKE BOOSTER SERVO **FREE UK DELIVERY** | eBay) that the same booster is OK for my car ("2003-2008 X-Type Diesel (all engines)") but visually it significantly differs from the other one.
Does anybody know exactly which one fits into my car without removing the original one? Is there a difference between the left and right wheel models (concerning the brake booster)?

Thanks in advance,
Jozsi

Get the one for the 02-03 and keep it safe. Also check the one way valve coming off of the brake booster: 2002-2007 Jaguar X-Type Brake Booster Vacuum Hose – OES Genuine W0133-1657647 - Brake Booster Vacuum Hose - OES Genuine

I've just had a look at it and actually there is a valve. I'll check it ASAP...

This is what the seller says:

Thank you for contacting us. If you have an X type 03' (VIN E59532) than this power brake booster will not fit your vehicle. Unfortunately, it only is compatible with D44087 and below. Sorry about that and good luck.

FYI, I found pictures of a brake booster in the internet, which has the very same ID as mine:

Did you get a brand new or a used one?

Used one, from a local (Hungary) used parts dealer. Ebay sellers convinced me, that the boosters they sell, don't fit to my car (according to the VIN). But I'm afraid they are somehow misinformed.
